Andrew Stavrides

Chief of Police

Chief Andrew Stavrides brings 20 years of law enforcement experience to his role as Chief of Police. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) Senior Management Institute for Police, and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, leadership and decision-making program.

He has held every rank within the department, and has commanded the Uniformed Services Division, Investigative Services Division, and Professional Standards and Accreditation Division. He was a key player in our agency receiving it’s first award of national accreditation from CALEA, acting as accreditation manager.

Chief Stavrides has an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University, and holds both a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of New Haven, reflecting his strong foundation in both leadership and public service. His career is marked by a commitment to innovation, integrity, and community engagement. .

Deputy Chief

Deputy Chief Joe Woznyk has served with the North Haven Police Department since 2004. Over his 21-year career, Deputy Chief Woznyk has held every rank within the department. He has commanded the Uniformed Services Division, Investigative Services Division, and the South-Central Regional SWAT Team.

A strong advocate for professional development, Deputy Chief Woznyk has been instrumental in designing and implementing modernized training programs for the department. His commitment to officer growth and readiness has remained a consistent focus throughout his career.

Deputy Chief Woznyk has completed extensive professional education, including the Senior Management Institute for Policing (Session 86) through the Police Executive Research Forum. He holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Post University and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of New Haven.
