On Thursday morning July 10, 2014, North Haven Police Officers were called to the parking lot of Target on Universal Drive for a report of a child unattended in a motor vehicle. Officers met with the concerned citizen who reported the incident and determined a 7-year-old child was left in a vehicle alone for 20 minutes. The mother of the child, Elizabeth Ball, was located and charged with Leaving a Child Under the age of 12 Unattended in a Motor Vehicle. Ball, who resides in Woodbridge, has a court date of July 17, 2014 in Meriden Superior Court. This is the second time in the past three days police were called to the Target parking lot for an unattended child in a vehicle.
