On 7/7/2014 at approximately 9:26 p.m., North Haven Officers responded to the Target parking lot on Universal Drive for the report of young children left in a vehicle. Officers located an infant and a toddler in a locked vehicle with the windows marginally opened. The investigation found that a 27 year old East Haven woman took one infant child into the store but left her other children in the vehicle because they were sleeping. The children, who were not injured, were found to be unattended in the large parking lot for nearly 16 minutes. The woman was charged with Leaving a Child Unsupervised in a Motor Vehicle and will appear in Meriden Superior Court.
