A North Haven man is facing burglary and larceny charges after stealing a motorcycle from the garage of a Rock Road residence. On 05/09/2015 at approximately 10:00 a.m., a Rock Road resident discovered that his motorcycle had just been stolen from his garage. The resident began to look around and encountered a passing jogger. The jogger had observed a subject pushing a motorcycle down the street and went back to check. Another person walking down the street had observed a male subject pushing the motorcycle behind a garage on Arrowhead Road. The jogger confronted the subject, later identified as 18-year-old Shawn Hammond, near the garage and engaged in a foot chase with Hammond toward Rock Road near Montowese Elementary School. Several parents in the area for a soccer game, helped stop Hammond and hold him down until police arrival. Shawn Hammond was charged with Burglary in the Third Degree and Larceny in the Fifth Degree. He was held on a $5,000.00 bond pending an appearance in Meriden Superior Court.
